The All Blacks face the Canucks from Canada to finish pool play today, this could be very one sided after Canada’s hard game against the Japanese.

New Zealand have faced Canada 4 times with 2 of those matches coming at a World Cup, first in 1991 in the Quarter Finals where the All Blacks won 29-13 and again in 2003 when New Zealand won 68-6, In fact the last 3 meetings have all resulted in big NZ victory’s with an average winning margin of 61 points.

Canada tried hard against Japan but in the end were lucky to escape with only a draw, they should be tired entering this match and it could be a bit of a lopsided match but this Canucks side played their second string side against France and only lost by 25, they do have some talent but against a fast paced Japan side they looked tired and that does not bode well for them here.

The All Blacks meanwhile are rolling along and looking great, but you would have to say that no side they have faced to this point has been of World Class quality, including their match against France. Kieran Read should play today which is great and I also expect Muliaina to get his 99th test cap I this match also, which means that with any luck Israel Dagg will not play this match, however they do have some concerns in their backline with Kahui and Jane unlikely to play as well as Dagg, but there is also the word going around that they will field their strongest line up for this match.

New Zealand will win but 62 is a lot and either way you play this it will only be covered or lost in the dying embers of this match, We do though think that based on what Japan did to Canada that the likes of M Nonu and SBW will have a field day here and so we’ll take the start on NZ but you might have to cross your fingers in the closing minutes of this match.
